DYHA Individual Training Available!

DYHA is excited to share this new local opportunity with our members as the Blaze and DYHA look to further grow hockey in Decatur. Below you will find information for off ice training opportunities with the Decatur Blaze coaching staff. The coaching staff will host an open house on Saturday 5/3 from 9am-3pm. The open house will give you the opportunity to view their training facilities and learn more about their training sessions. In addition to the training sessions, the Blaze will be hosting a 5-day camp from August 4th through 8th. Camp information will be sent out within the next few weeks.

The Decatur Blaze are not affiliated with DYHA and are independently led, funded and, coached. All questions or concerns about the Blaze led program should be directed to Zac Pearson.

Train Like a Professional!

Coach Zac Pearson, Former Professional hockey player and head coach/owner of the Decatur Blaze, is now offering 1-on-1 and small group hockey training sessions for players ages 8 and up!

Whether you're looking to sharpen your skills or take your game to the next level, this is a chance to train with one of the Midwest’s most experienced hockey minds and train like the Professionals.

🏒 Training Details:

✅ 1-on-1 Training

• $30.00 per hour

• Personalized coaching focused on your unique development

✅ Small Group Training (Up to 4 Players)

• $25.00 per player

• Great for friends or teammates to train together

📅 Sessions Available:

• Tuesdays & Thursdays

• Daytime or evening hours available (flexible scheduling!)

🔧 Training Includes:

• Skating Skills

• Shooting Practice

• Workouts and Conditioning

• Position-specific drills

• Mental prep & more!

All sessions take place at the Decatur Blaze training facility, featuring full gym equipment and a synthetic ice shooting room. Once the ice returns to the Decatur Civic Center, on-ice sessions will also be available!

With over 15 years of coaching experience, Zac brings a wealth of hockey knowledge. He played Junior, College, and Professional hockey in both the U.S. and Europe before founding and coaching the Decatur Blaze.
